"I can't do yoga, I'm not flexible enough." Every time I hear this, I always explain, that yoga is so much more than being flexible. You may see people able to do the craziest postures that you may never be able to do. Each person's anatomy is different. For me, my shoulders are not flexible.
Asana (movement) is the aspect of yoga that first comes to mind for most people. But when you're able to bring together all eight aspects of yoga, you're able to create something beautiful on and off your mat.
When I teach, I feel lifted. No matter how great or bad my day has been, once I start teaching, the world around me stops and I am there, in the moment. I teach because I have the opportunity to help others find something deeper within themselves.
A few years ago, I did not want to practice yoga – it was too 'slow' for me. But when an injury brought me to yoga day after day, I started to see a change in my mind and body. Teacher training introduced me to amazing people, and started to change me from the inside out. It wasn't instant, that is why yoga is a practice and i have to work at it every single day.
If you want to see your change from the inside out, contact me, let's talk – or not :) – and I can just teach.
