Learning, adapting, and researching to create the future of healthcare and transform self-care. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design, with honors and a concentration in Global Portfolio, Renee started developing a multifaceted career, beginning her journey as a social entrepreneur.
Learning sign language at a young age, she sought out to improve the lives of deaf and hard of hearing, founding Olive Devices. Along the way, she learned the ups and downs of life as an entrepreneur. These life lessons influenced a change in the way she expressed her passions.
Striving to design a life of well-rounded health, discovering and treating the effects of her own burnout became a research project of all it's own. Renee is passionate about discovering what makes us 'tick' – where work and life can meet in the middle. Creating habits of well-rounded nutrition, mindfulness, positive psychology and physical fitness is difficult, but not impossible. She's curious and determined to figure out how our health can intertwine with business, our careers, and giving back to those around us.
Currently, a Health For America fellow at MedStar Health – Renee is working with the integrative medicine (IM) team to develop the future of IM. Renee's research interests include the mechanisms behind IM such as yoga, meditation, and nutrition; the human microbiome; disease and disability prevention; and accessibility of healthcare, products, and services locally and globally.
