Renee has a diverse background in medical technology, product development, entrepreneurship and project management. Renee’s areas of expertise are in healthcare innovation, product and program management, process development, human-centered design, and business model design. Rounding out her fellowship training at the MedStar Health Institute for Innovation, Renee is currently looking for positions to impact health through products, programs, and technology in Chicago, IL
As a Health For America fellow at MedStar Health, Renee is working with the integrative medicine (IM) team to develop the future of IM through developing and innovating on business tools to scale services. She has served as a project manager for programs in culinary and lifestyle medicine and is working on tools for physicians and support staff to scale shared medical appointments.
Being fully immersed in integrative medicine, and as a yoga instructor, Renee’s areas of interests include: nutrition; the mechanisms behind mind-body modalities such as yoga and meditation; the human microbiome; disease and disability prevention; and accessibility of healthcare, products, and services locally and globally.
In past positions, Renee has managed product development at Best Self Co., designing product and managing relationships with domestic and international vendors to source the best manufacturers. She also helped develop project management processes to get ideas from conception to the customers.
After graduating college, she returned to her sign language roots, learning the language at a young age. She sought out to improve the lives of deaf and hard of hearing, founding Olive Devices. During the company’s founding year she wore many hats, directing the design and development to prototype, building a business around a sound locating and captioning device for deaf and hard of hearing, raising funding, and mentoring interns. This is where Renee developed her passion for social impact, medical technology, and preventative health.
Renee graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Design from Philadelphia University with honors Cum Laude, a concentration in Global Portfolio, and an honors program graduate.
